Bring the dog.
We've been waiting.

The most pet-friendly inn in Mount Shasta — and a local field guide to hiking, eating, and exploring the mountain with your dog.

We didn't add dogs
as an afterthought.

Every room type here is configured to welcome a dog. We've got the outdoor space, the practical setup, and a staff that genuinely lights up when you walk in with a leash in hand. Below, the honest details on what to expect and where to take them once you're here.

$25/nt

pet fee

Per room, not per dog.

Two beds with wooden headboards separated by a nightstand with a small green plant and wall lamps.

Real outdoor space. No designer dog bowls.

We're not going to pretend we've built a luxury pet spa. What we have is something better: a property designed for the way people and dogs actually travel in the mountains. Room to stretch, a place to relieve, a fire to gather around, and a team that's seen it all.

Fire pit & lawn

Where dogs make friends faster than their humans do.

Staff who actually
like dogs

Most of us are dog owners ourselves. You'll notice.

Free on-site
parking

Pull up outside your room. No hauling gear through hallways with a dog on a leash.

Designated relief area

Just beyond the fire pit. Waste bags and a covered bin, well-stocked.

Mount Shasta with a dog.

Everything our team recommends when guests ask where to take a dog around here. Trails worth driving to, restaurants that won't kick you out, and a few activities your dog might actually thank you for.

Castle Lake Shore Loop
Distance
10.0 mi
drive
20 min

If your dog hasn't swum in alpine water, this is the one. A flat loop around a glacial lake with shoreline access the whole way. Cool even in August. Bring a towel and a tennis ball.

The Dog Trail
Distance
12 mi
drive
20 min

The most dog-famous trail on the mountain, and for good reason. High alpine forest, mountain views, and a clear path that stays outside the wilderness boundary. Waste bags available at the trailhead.

Faery Falls
Distance
4.3 mi
drive
12 min

A short trail through ferns and moss to a quiet cascade at the old Ney Springs ruins. Can get slippery near the water — sturdy footwear recommended (for humans, that is).

Lake Siskiyou Loop
Distance
2.6 mi
drive
6 min

A flat lakeside loop with the mountain reflected across the water the whole way. Access points for wading along the trail. Note: dogs aren't permitted at the resort beach — use the trail access points for water breaks.

McCloud Falls
Distance
18.0 mi
drive
22 min

Three waterfalls in a row, riverside walking, mostly shaded. Dogs can wade in the calmer sections between falls — keep them away from the main cascades where current is strong.

Sisson Meadow
Distance
0.6 mi
drive
