Tauhindauli Park
A quiet riverfront park in Dunsmuir, right on the Upper Sacramento. Simple, easy, and genuinely peaceful. Maintained by the Dunsmuir Garden Club and located very close to our sister property, The Angler Lodge.

History and River, Side by Side
Just south in Dunsmuir, Tauhindauli Park offers more than half a mile of public access along the Upper Sacramento River (and a surprising depth of history beneath its peaceful trails). The park is named for the Tauhindauli family (pronounced Tau-in-dolly), Wintu people who made this riverside their home in the 1800s, and it sits on the grounds of the historic Upper Soda Springs Resort, a Victorian-era destination where travelers once came to "take the waters."
Today it's a restored natural park rather than a manicured one: paved and interpretive trails wind through native grasses, woodland, and even an old fruit orchard still bearing fruit, with the river nearby the whole way. With picnic areas, fishing access, and a swimming hole favored by locals, it's a relaxed and beautiful spot to walk, fish, or simply sit by the water. Located just a few minutes from our sister property, The Angler Lodge.
