Hedge Creek Falls
Twenty minutes down to a thirty-foot waterfall you can walk behind. One of the easiest, most satisfying outings in the area.

A Waterfall You Can Walk Behind
Just off the highway on the north edge of Dunsmuir, Hedge Creek Falls is one of those rare waterfalls you can actually walk behind. A short, shaded trail descends a few gentle switchbacks to the roughly 30-foot cascade, which spills through a wall of columnar basalt into a clear pool. Continue a little farther and the trail opens onto a viewing platform above the Sacramento River, with Mount Shasta framed in the distance.
Easy, quick, and genuinely memorable, it's the perfect leg-stretch on a road trip or a low-effort outing for the whole family. Only about ten minutes from the Inn and about three minutes from our sister property, The Angler Lodge.
